Course Description and Goals
This course is designed to systematically improve students understanding of essays and their abilities of essay writing. It anatomizes basic elements of essays and develops strategies to help students better cope with each element.
Students in this class will learn about the basic concept and principles of essay writing and various kinds of essays. They would also build up their knowledge network in terms of essay writing from words， sentences to paragraphs. Excellent essays will be introduced and discussed as examples. Students would also have an opportunity to receive reviews of their essays from the instructor and their peers.
The course will incorporate IB， AP， IGCES， A-Level， SAT essay writing requirements， if necessary， in an effort to hone students skills to better answer test questions and write academic essays.
課程有助于學(xué)生對英語寫作的理解及寫作能力的提高，課程注重分析英文寫作的基本結(jié)構(gòu)及培養(yǎng)學(xué)生構(gòu)建寫作結(jié)構(gòu)的方法。
學(xué)生在學(xué)習(xí)過程中將學(xué)到英文寫作的一些基本概念和寫作規(guī)律，并能夠構(gòu)建詞、句、段的網(wǎng)絡(luò)結(jié)構(gòu)。教學(xué)中老師會引入優(yōu)秀的范文，學(xué)生還可以得到老師的親身指導(dǎo)。
課程會融合IB、GCSE、A-Level、AP、SAT等考試中的常見的問題來指導(dǎo)學(xué)生分析文章，幫助學(xué)生提高文學(xué)寫作能力以及更好的應(yīng)對以后考試中的問題。
